    Hyperlink films are quite popular in modern film narratives. They often try to establish situations that get interconnected with the characters and in the end, they will try to make paths for most of the characters. Remember the likes of Pulp Fiction, City of God, Amores Perros etc. They are common with the narrative excellence in hyperlinking films. Let's see where the Netflix flick 'Ludo' lies in that array.

   If you have ever played Ludo, you will be in a situation in which the other players coins to pass you over at some times. Maybe you will be in the same column that they are in. The contrasting thing is that they are of a different colour than yours. Similarly, as humans, we also might be in the same dilemma when a stranger could influence your life, it will be all chaos. The name of the movie suits everything that happened on the screen.

  Ludo has the same narrative. The life's of Sattu Bhaiyya (Pankaj Tripathi), a gang leader who was feared by everyone, Sheeja (Pearle Manaey) an ambitious nurse from Kerala who lives in North India, Aalu(Rajkumar Rao) a man who loved everything that his first and only crush Pinky(Fathima Sana) liked even after her marriage, Akash(Adithya) a ventriloquist- comedian who is having a problem with a porn film featuring himself and another ambitious girl Shruthi( Sanya Malhotra), Bittu (Abhishek Bachan) a former convict who is out to reach his little girl and Rahul (Rohit Suresh) a salesman who is not happy with his life gets intervened in each others story that leads to danger and crazy things to happen around them.

  The characters, except the ones in pairs, don't have any intermediate connection. But life is a mixture of sweet and sour and once they will find the same taste bud. Anurag Basu's movie is excellent with its editing that helped the character development to occur without much confusion. When someone could do that in a hyperlink movie, then viewers can just watch for the things that are happening. It is the simplest way to express the thoughts of a director and Anurag made a big impact this time.

 Some of the characters were helpless, while some had the opposite trait. But the winners and losers might be different or maybe they all will have a safe zone for them to hide. All the actors excellently played their characters, especially Pankaj Tripathi had a positive impact on this movie with his stellar performance. He appears to be a sadist at times and fun in a different scenario. To me, he steals the show in Ludo. Abhishek Bachan also performed well along with ever likeable Rajkumar Rao. Pearley Maaney surprisingly stood up with her character in her debut Bollywood flick (I think so).

  As a fan of hyperlink movies, Ludo was a good treat for me as a movieholic. The recent OTT movies have quality content and Ludo is one of 'em. So if you have some time to spend on a movie that entertains and thrills you, go for Ludo. The movie is worth watching!!

  Roosevelt once said, "The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams". Surya's new movie Soorarai Pottru can be handily deciphered using that quote. 

  Well, the story is loosely based on the life of G.R Gopinath, the founder of Simplifly Deccan, formerly known as Air Deccan. But the story penned by Sudha Kongara took the liberty of changing the whole atmosphere to suit the cinematic language, where Gopinath became Maaran along with the portrayal of other characters.

   The story is no different from the usual inspirational movies that garner the viewer's appreciations. The story goes like this. A man from the lower section of society tries to achieve his dream, and while striving to make it a reality, he had to follow a path of thorns and sharp stones. Yes, it's the same old story.

   However, the characters are strong and their profundity makes the movie engaging. The stellar performances from the likes of Surya, Aparna, Urvashi, Paresh, Mohan Babu and many others take the movie to another level. The music by GVP is also worth mentioning. The soul of the movies like this finds the way with tunes like this.

  The presence of bold female characters and depictions of lower Indian society tries to talk more than the story of a person trying to fly high. Certain caricatures like Ballaiyya (Vijay Mallya) and the likes of many others are in the movie. 

  Since the movie is loosely based, let's say that these characters are arranged for enhancing the cinematic experience. Wait, there is a scene from one of these characters that give goosebumps. Watch the movie and experience it. Let's keep it a secret.

  Apart from prominent features, I felt a lack of WOW factor at times. Especially, the climax should be more worked in that way. But Sudha's version went for melodrama in those places. As mentioned earlier, this story is meant to be an inspirational one, and when such a story is presented on-screen it should be able to provide in full with horripilation. But that was missing from the climax.

 Meanwhile, when we look at the bigger picture the movie as a whole is thought-provoking and enthralling that compels the viewers to experience the hardships that Maaran confronted in his way to achieve his dream. 

   This is a movie that deserved a theatrical release. Sudha Kongara's movie provided a quality OTT release among the likes of many who provided lacklustre experiences to the viewers. As a fan of the OTT platform, I expect much more quality movies to reach the comfort of our home.

  The new SonyLiv flick is filled with emotions of fear and blood. This creepy movie tells the story of 2 ladies named Anuja and Neha who had frightening experiences when they went to take census count in a secluded house in the middle of nowhere. They went to take the census and felt something was out of place when they had met Prerna, a pregnant lady who told 'Children were born and they die thereafter' when asked about her other kids. There they met 3 more adults who were suspicious of the way they behaved.

  They stepped out of the house. Later, Anuja had a feeling to go back to that house and Neha at first wasn't interested. But their instincts made them go there. This time, everything is changed. A downpour made them stay for the night and, that was the beginning of their ultimate fears. What happened to them thereafter is the rest of the movie's story.

  Apart from dealing with a horror subject, the movie directed by Pushkar Mahabal and penned by Ankita pictures the Indian community dominated by men. For example, Anuja's fiance and Neha's brother were the same apart from living in different Indian cities. Their attitude towards women can be seen at the beginning of the film. The sex-starved villainous characters also depict another section called psychos who are not common, yet they consider women as tools for just sex. The male characters in the movie are mostly awful. Maybe they too exist!!

  At end of the movie, when we realize that the whole incident is based on a true incident, we could feel chilling vibes through our flesh and bone. Welcome Home is well crafted and cut to the chase during the nearly 2 hours of its run time. Welcome Home shouldn't be missed if you are a movie fanatic, especially if you like the movies that chill down the spine that pervaded with an eerie atmosphere.

 Well, it was too hard to live the life of Prerna!!!

   സ്വന്തം ജീവിതം നശിച്ച ഒരാൾ.അയാളുടെ മുന്നിൽ ഉള്ള ജീവിതത്തെ നേരിടാൻ അയാൾക്ക്‌ പല വഴികൾ ഉണ്ട്.ചിലപ്പോൾ ഒന്നിരുന്നു ചിന്തിച്ചാൽ തീരാവുന്ന പ്രശ്നം മാത്രമേ ഉണ്ടാകൂ.പലപ്പോഴും ഇതു നടക്കുന്നത് ആ സമയത്തെ ചിന്തകൾക്ക് അനുസരിച്ചു ആകും.

  ഒരു മോശം ദിവസത്തിന്റെ വില എന്താണെന്ന് ഈ അവസ്ഥയിൽ ഉള്ള ആൾ മറ്റൊരാളെ പഠിപ്പിക്കാൻ ശ്രമിച്ചാലോ??നടക്കുന്നത് ഭീകരമായ സംഭവങ്ങൾ ആയിരിക്കും.അതാണ് ഒരു edge-of-the-seat-thriller എന്നു വിളിക്കാവുന്ന Unhinged ന്റെ കഥ. അന്നത്തെ ദിവസം ഇത്രയും ഭീകരം ആകും എന്നു ആരും കരുതി കാണില്ല.

   റസൽ ക്രോ ഈ ചിത്രത്തിന് വേണ്ടി ഭാരം കൂട്ടിയത് വാർത്ത ആയതു മുതൽ കാത്തിരുന്ന ചിത്രം ആയിരുന്നു.കഥയുടെ സിനോപ്സിസ് വായിച്ചപ്പോൾ തന്നെ പ്രതീക്ഷയും കൂടി.ചിത്രത്തിന്റെ ആദ്യ സീൻ ഉണ്ട്.ഏതാനും നിമിഷങ്ങൾക്കുളിൽ നടന്ന സംഭവം എന്താണെന്ന് ഒന്നൂടി rewind ചെയ്തു നോക്കേണ്ടി വന്നു.ഭീകരമായൊരു സീനിന്റെ മികച്ച അവതരണം എന്നു പറയേണ്ടി വരും അതിനെ.

റസൽ ക്രോവിന്റെ കഥാപാത്രം ശരിക്കും ഭയപ്പെടുത്തും.സ്‌ക്രീനിൽ ആ കഥാപാത്രം വരുമ്പോൾ തന്നെ ഭയം എന്നൊരു വാക്ക് ആയിരിക്കും പ്രേക്ഷകന്റെ മനസ്സിൽ ഉണ്ടാവുക.ശരിക്കും ഞെട്ടിച്ച പ്രകടനം.ഒരു one-മാൻ- show എന്നു പറഞ്ഞാൽ അധികമാകില്ല.

  ജീവിതത്തിലെ ചെറിയ സംഭവങ്ങൾ പല മനസ്ഥിതി ഉള്ളവരെ എങ്ങനെ ബാധിക്കും എന്നത് നോക്കി കാണേണ്ടത് ആണ്.റിപ്പോർട്ടുകൾ പകരം ലോകമെമ്പാടും road rage പോലുള്ള സംഭവങ്ങൾ ഒക്കെ വർദ്ധിച്ചു വരുമ്പോൾ പ്രത്യേകിച്ചും.വണ്ടിയുടെ ഹോണ് ഇതു വരെ ഒരു പ്രാവശ്യം മാത്രം അടിക്കേണ്ടി വന്ന അവസ്ഥയിൽ ഉള്ള രാജ്യത്തു ജീവിക്കുന്ന ,അത്തരത്തിൽ ഉള്ള ഒരു സംസ്ക്കാരം ഉള്ള രാജ്യങ്ങളിൽ ഒരു വലിയ പ്രശ്നം ഉണ്ടാക്കാൻ അതു മതിയായിരിക്കും.അത്തരത്തിൽ ഒരു Courtesy Tap ന്റെ വില എന്താണ് എന്ന് അറിയാൻ Unhinged കാണുക.

  അമ്മമാർ മക്കളെ നല്ലവരായും , ഒപ്പം നന്മയുടെ പ്രതീകങ്ങൾ ആയി ഭാവിയിൽ വളരും എന്ന പ്രതീക്ഷയിൽ ആണ് വളർത്തുന്നത്.എന്നാൽ ഇവിടെ ഒരു അമ്മയുണ്ട്.അമ്മയുടെ സ്വഭാവം കണ്ടാൽ അമ്മയൊരു അമ്മയാണോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു പോകും.അങ്ങനെ ഒരു അമ്മയുടെ സംഭവബഹുലമായ കഥയാണ് കുറച്ചു വയലൻസും, കൊലപാതകവും, കള്ളങ്ങളും എല്ലാം കൂടി അവതരിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന സിനിമയുടെ പേരാണ് Mother's Day.

   സൊഹാപ്പി കുടുംബം അവരുടെ സുഹൃത്തുക്കളും ആയി വീടിന്റെ ബേസ്മെന്റിൽ ഒരു പാർട്ടിയിൽ ആയിരുന്നു.നേരത്തെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന അതിഥികളെ കൂടാതെ ക്ഷണിക്കപ്പെടാത്ത 3 അതിഥികൾ കൂടി അവിടെ എത്തി.എന്നാൽ അതിഥികൾ ആണ് എന്നുള്ള ചിന്തയിൽ അല്ല അവർ അവിടെ വന്നത്.കാരണം, അതവരുടെ വീട് ആയിരുന്നു

 

  പിന്നീട് എന്തു സംഭവിക്കുന്നു എന്നതാണ് സിനിമയുടെ ബാക്കി കഥ. 1980 ൽ റിലീസ് ആയ ഇതേ പേരിൽ ഉള്ള സ്ളാഷർ സിനിമയെ ആസ്പദമാക്കിയാണ്  സിനിമ അവതരിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്.

  ജീവിതത്തിലെ നിർണായകമായ നിമിഷങ്ങളിൽ മനുഷ്യൻ പല കാര്യങ്ങളോടും എങ്ങനെ പ്രതികരിക്കും എന്നത് കണ്ടു മനസ്സിലാക്കേണ്ടത് ആണ്.പ്രത്യേകിച്ചും തീർത്തും പരിചിതമല്ലാത്ത ഒരു അവസ്ഥ.ജീവിതത്തിൽ പുറമെ ചിരിച്ചു കാണിച്ചു കൊണ്ടുള്ള ജീവിതവും അതിന്റെ ഉള്ളിൽ ഉള്ള വേദനകളും എല്ലാം.

  പക്ഷെ ഈ ഒരു ഘടകത്തിനും അപ്പുറം ഈ ചിത്രം ഒരു Slasher ചിത്രമാണ്, ഒരു സൈക്കോളജിക്കൽ ത്രില്ലർ ആണ്, ഒപ്പം അത്യാവശ്യം അപ്രതീക്ഷിതമായ ഒരു ക്ളൈമാക്‌സ് ഉള്ള ചിത്രവും  ആണ്.കണ്ടു നോക്കുക, പ്രത്യേകിച്ചും ഈ ഴോൻറയിൽ ഉള്ള ചിത്രങ്ങൾ താൽപ്പര്യം ഉള്ളവർ.നിരാശരകേണ്ടി വരില്ല.
