 കോവിഡ് കാലഘട്ടവും ആ സമയത്ത് ഉള്ള കുറച്ചു കൊലപാതകങ്ങളും അതിനുള്ള കാരണവും ആണ് Sick എന്ന ഹൊറർ സ്ലാഷർ സിനിമയുടെ പ്രമേയം.കോവിഡ് കാലഘട്ടത്തിൽ പൊതു സ്ഥലത്തു ഒന്ന് ചുമച്ചാൽ പോലും ഉള്ള അവസ്ഥ എല്ലാവർക്കും ഇപ്പോഴും ഓർമ ഉണ്ടാകുമല്ലോ? കാലൻ മുന്നിൽ വന്ന് നിൽക്കുന്ന പോലെ ഒരു ഭാവം ആണ് ബാക്കി ഉള്ളവർക്ക് എല്ലാം. കുറ്റം പറയാനും പറ്റില്ലാലോ. അതായിരുന്നല്ലോ അവസ്ഥ? ഇതേ വിചാരങ്ങൾ ഒരു സിനിമ ആയി വന്നാലോ? 

90s ലെ സ്ലാഷർ സിനിമകളുടെ ഫോർമാറ്റിൽ ആണ് Sick അവതരിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്. അധികം ആരും ഇല്ലാത്ത വെക്കേഷൻ കാബിനിലേക്ക് പോകാൻ ഉള്ള ഏറ്റവും മികച്ച സാധ്യത ആണ് കോവിഡ് എന്ന് പറയേണ്ടി വരും. Isolation എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞ് അതിനെ സാധൂകരിക്കാം. പലപ്പോഴും ഇത്തരത്തിൽ ഏകാന്തമായ സ്ഥലങ്ങളിലേക്ക് ആളുകൾ പോയി പണി കിട്ടുമ്പോൾ ഇവർക്ക് വേറെ പണി ഇല്ലേ എന്നൊന്നും ഇവിടെ ആലോചിക്കാൻ പറ്റാത്ത അത്ര പെർഫെക്റ്റ് സാഹചര്യം ആണ് ഇവിടെ ഉള്ളത്.പാർക്കർ, മിറി എന്നീ സുഹൃത്തുക്കൾ ആണ് ഇത്തരം ഒരു സ്ഥലത്തു എത്തിയത്.

എന്നാൽ അവരെ തിരഞ്ഞ് ഒരാൾ കൂടി വരുന്നുണ്ടായിരുന്നു. യാദൃച്ഛികമായി അവിടെ വന്നെത്തിയ ആളാണോ അതോ അയാൾക്ക്‌ മറ്റെന്തെങ്കിലും പ്രത്യേക ലക്ഷ്യം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നോ? കണ്ടറിയാൻ സിനിമ കാണുക.

ഭയങ്കര വലിയ സംഭവം ഒന്നും അല്ല ചിത്രം. ഇത്തരം ഒരു സാഹചര്യത്തിൽ ലോജിക്കിനെ കുറിച്ച് ഒരു ഭാഗത്തു ചിന്തിക്കുമ്പോഴും ഇങ്ങനെ കൂടി മനുഷ്യന് ചിന്തിക്കാൻ കഴിയുമല്ലോ എന്ന് തോന്നിക്കുന്ന സാഹചര്യങ്ങൾ പലതും ഉണ്ട്. പ്രത്യേകിച്ചും നമ്മുടെ എല്ലാം കണ്മുന്നിലൂടെ കടന്നു പോയ യാഥാർഥ്യങ്ങൾ വച്ച് നോക്കുമ്പോൾ ഇതൊക്കെ തള്ളി കളയാനും കഴിയില്ല. എന്തായാലും കണ്ട് നോക്കൂ. സ്ലാഷർ ഹൊറർ ആണ്. ചോരക്കളി കുറച്ചുണ്ട്. 

വലിയ സംഭവം ആണെന്ന് പറയുന്നില്ല. പക്ഷെ സിനിമ നന്നായി ആസ്വദിച്ചു തന്നെ ആണ് കണ്ടതും.എനിക്ക് ഇഷ്ടപ്പെടുകയും ചെയ്തു.

ഇത്ര ക്രിഞ്ച് ഫെസ്റ്റ് ആയ, ക്ളീഷേ ആയ കഥയാണോ മലയാളത്തിലെ ഏറ്റവും വലിയ ഹിറ്റ് ആയത്? കോടികളുടെ കണക്കൊക്കെ വായുവിൽ എഴുതി കൂട്ടിയത് ആയിരിക്കും. 

  ഇങ്ങനെ ഒക്കെ പറയാൻ ഒരു ചാൻസ് പോലും ആർക്കും കൊടുക്കും എന്ന് തോന്നുന്നില്ല മഞ്ഞുമൽ ബോയ്സ്. എന്ത് കിടിലൻ ആയിട്ടാണ് സിനിമ എടുത്തു വച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്? സുഷിന്റെ സംഗീതം കൂടി ആകുമ്പോൾ മികച്ച ഒരു അനുഭവം ആയിരുന്നു 65 ഇഞ്ചിന്റെ സ്‌ക്രീനിൽ കണ്ടപ്പോൾ പോലും. തിയറ്ററിൽ കാണുമ്പോൾ ഉള്ള എക്സ്പീരിയൻസ് നല്ലത് പോലെ മിസ്സ്‌ ആയി പോയി എന്ന് തോന്നിപ്പിച്ചു മഞ്ഞുമലിലെ കൂട്ടുകാർ.

 സിനിമ നടക്കുന്ന കാലഘട്ടം പരിചിതം ആയതു കൊണ്ട് തന്നെ പല കാര്യങ്ങളും കണക്റ്റ് ചെയ്യാൻ പറ്റി. പ്രത്യേകിച്ചും 2006 ൽ കൊടൈക്കനാലിൽ കോളേജിൽ നിന്നും ട്രിപ്പ്‌ പോയത് കൊണ്ടൊക്കെ പല കാര്യങ്ങളും ആ മനസ്സോടെ തന്നെ ഇരുന്നു കണ്ടത് കൊണ്ടാണെന്ന് തോന്നുന്നു ഒരു രക്ഷയും ഇല്ലായിരുന്നു. മരത്തിൽ കയറി ഗ്രൂപ്പ് ആയുള്ള ഫോട്ടോയും ബൈക്കിങ്ങും ബോട്ടും എല്ലാം ഇന്നലെ കഴിഞ്ഞ പോലെ ഓർമ ആയി വന്നൂ. പഴയ സൗഹൃദങ്ങളും ടാസമാക് ദിവസങ്ങളും എല്ലാം സിനിമയിൽ ആ ഫ്ലോയിൽ പോകുമ്പോൾ നൊസ്റ്റാൾജിയ നന്നായി അടിച്ചു.

  സിനിമയുടെ പ്രധാന ഭാഗം തുടങ്ങിയപ്പോൾ ഉണ്ടായ ചെറിയ ഒരു ഞെട്ടലിൽ നിന്നും പിന്നെ ഇമോഷണൽ റോളർകോസ്റ്റർ ആയിരുന്നു സിനിമ മൊത്തവും. സൗഹൃദത്തിന്റെ ഒക്കെ ഒരു ശക്തിയെ. എല്ലാവരുടെയും ജീവിതത്തിൽ ഇതേ രീതിയിൽ ഇതേ ഫീലിംഗ്സ് ഉള്ള കൂട്ടുകാർ ഉണ്ടാവുക എന്നതായിരിക്കും ഏറ്റവും വലിയ കാര്യം. ആ ഭാഗങ്ങൾ ഒക്കെ എത്ര മനോഹരമായി ആണ് ചിദംബരവും കൂട്ടുകാരും വരച്ചു കാട്ടിയിരിക്കുന്നത്? സ്‌ക്രീനിൽ ഉള്ള കഥാപാത്രങ്ങൾക്ക് ഉപരി ഇവരെല്ലാം നമ്മുടെ കൂടെ എപ്പോഴോ ഉള്ള മുഖങ്ങൾ ആണെന്ന് ഓർമ വരുന്ന സാഹചര്യങ്ങൾ.

  ക്ലൈമാക്സ് ഭാഗം തന്ന സംതൃപ്തി ഒന്ന് മതി എന്നും ഓർത്തു വയ്ക്കാവുന്ന സിനിമ ആയി മഞ്ഞുമൽ ബോയ്സിനെ മാറ്റാൻ.ഇതൊക്കെ ഒരു ഭാഗത്തു നിൽക്കുമ്പോൾ തന്നെ സിനിമ തന്ന ത്രില്ലർ ഫീലിംഗ് ഉണ്ട്. അത് ഭാഷയ്ക്ക് അതീതമായ ഒന്നാണ്. മലയാളം ഒരു മിനിമം ലെവലിൽ മനസ്സിലാകുന്ന എന്റെ പത്തു വയസ്സുകാരൻ മകൻ പോലും സബ്ടൈറ്റിൽസ് വച്ച് കണ്ട് തുടങ്ങി പിന്നെ ഓരോ ഭാഗത്തും സീനുകൾക്ക് അനുസരിച്ചു excited ആകുന്നതു കണ്ടൂ. എല്ലാവർക്കും മനസ്സിലാകുന്ന സിനിമ ഭാഷ ആണ് ഇവിടെ ഹൈലൈറ്റ്.അതാണ്‌ സിനിമ മറ്റ് സംസ്ഥാനങ്ങളിലും ഹിറ്റ് ആകാൻ കാരണം എന്ന് തോന്നുന്നു.

 പെട്ടെന്ന് ഓർമയിൽ വരുന്ന മാളൂട്ടി, Thirteen Lives, Mission Raniganj തുടങ്ങിയ സിനിമകളിൽ ഒക്കെ ഇത്തരം റെസ്ക്യൂ സീനുകൾ കാണുമ്പോൾ ഉള്ള ഒരു excitement ഉണ്ട്. പക്ഷെ ഇതിലെ കഥയുടെ പ്രത്യേകത കൊണ്ട് അത് വേറെ ഒരു ലെവലിൽ ആണ് എത്തിയത്.

  കുതന്ത്രം സോങ്ങിലെ ഈ വരികളിൽ ഉണ്ട് സിനിമയുടെ മൊത്തം ഫീലും. സിനിമയെക്കുറിച്ച് പെട്ടെന്ന് എന്തെങ്കിലും പറയാൻ പറഞ്ഞാൽ ഈ വരികളിൽ ഉണ്ട് എല്ലാം.

  മൊത്തത്തിൽ ഏറെ satisfaction തന്ന സിനിമ. ഇനി OTT വന്നത് കൊണ്ട് ആരെങ്കിലും ഒക്കെ കുറ്റങ്ങളും ആയി വന്നാൽ പോലും അതൊന്നും കണക്കിലെടുക്കാൻ പോലും തോന്നാത്ത അത്ര മികച്ച സിനിമാനുഭവം ആണ് മഞ്ഞുമൽ ബോയ്സ് തന്നത്. നന്ദി ചിദംബരം ആൻഡ് ടീം.

Reiwa Era യിലെ ഗോഡ്സില്ല സിനിമകൾ എല്ലാം തന്നെ ഒരു വിധം എല്ലാവരും ഫോളോ ചെയ്യുന്നുണ്ടാകും. ഈ കാലഘട്ടത്തിൽ മാത്രമല്ല, അവിടെയും ഇവിടെയും ആയി കണ്ട പല ഗോഡ്സില്ല സിനിമകൾ വച്ച് നോക്കിയാലും എന്റെ ഏറ്റവും ഇഷ്ടപ്പെട്ട സിനിമ ഇതാണ് : Godzilla Minus One.

 രണ്ടാം ലോകമഹായുദ്ധ കാലത്തിൽ തകർന്നടിഞ്ഞ ജപ്പാനിൽ ഗോഡ്സില്ലയെ ഓഡോ ദ്വീപിൽ കണ്ടെത്തുന്ന സമയം മുതലാണ് സിനിമയുടെ ആരംഭം. ജപ്പാന്റെ suicide- flying - squad ആയ Kamikaze യിലെ വൈമാനികൻ ആയ കൊയ്ച്ചിയിൽ ആണ് സിനിമയുടെ കഥ തുടങ്ങുന്നത്. ഗോഡ്സില്ലയും ആയി ആദ്യമായി മുഖാമുഖം കാണുന്ന അയാൾ പക്ഷെ അവിടെ അയാളുടെ ഭീരുത്വം കാരണം ധാരാളം ആളുകൾ കൊല്ലപ്പെട്ടു എന്ന് വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നു.

വർഷങ്ങൾക്കു അപ്പുറം കൊയ്ച്ചിയ്ക്ക് മറ്റൊരു അവസരം ലഭിക്കുകയാണ് ഗോഡ്സില്ലയെ നേരിടാൻ. ഇത്തവണ അയാൾക്ക്‌ അയാളുടേതായ ധാരാളം കാരണങ്ങൾ ഉണ്ട് ഈ ഉദ്യമത്തിൽ പങ്കെടുക്കാൻ. അയാൾ ഇവിടെ വിജയിക്കുമോ അതോ പഴയ അവസ്ഥ ആകുമോ എന്നതാണ് സിനിമയുടെ ബാക്കി കഥ.

 ഗോഡ്സില്ലയെ ഒരു വില്ലനായി തന്നെയാണ് സിനിമയിൽ അവതരിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്. കൊയ്ച്ചിയുടെയും മറ്റുള്ളവരുടെയും വൈകാരികമായ മുഖം സിനിമയ്ക്ക് നൽകിയതാണ് ഇവിടെ ഹൈലൈറ്റ്. കണ്ട് പരിചയിച്ച കഥയിൽ ഇത്തരം ഒരു ഘടകം നൽകിയത് നന്നായി. പഴയകാല ഗോഡ്സില്ലയോട് ഏറെ രൂപ സാദൃശ്യം ഉള്ളത് പോലെ തോന്നി ഇടയ്ക്ക് സിനിമയിൽ.  

സിനിമയുടെ വിഷ്വൽ എഫെക്റ്റ്സ് ഇടയ്ക്ക് പാളിയതായി തോന്നിയെങ്കിലും മൊത്തത്തിൽ നന്നായിരുന്നു.വിഷ്വൽ എഫെക്റ്റസിനു അക്കാദമി പുരസ്‌കാരം നേടിയ സിനിമ ആയതു കൊണ്ട് ടി വിയിൽ കണ്ടതിന്റെ കുറവാണ് അതെന്നു വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നു. അല്ലെങ്കിലും IMAX ൽ കാണേണ്ട പടം ടിവിയിൽ കണ്ടാൽ അങ്ങനെ ഇരിക്കും എന്ന് മനസ്സിലാക്കണം.

എന്നാലും സിനിമ എന്ന നിലയിൽ വളരെ മികച്ചതായി തന്നെ തോന്നി. ഡിജിറ്റൽ റിലീസ് വന്നിട്ടുണ്ട്. കണ്ട് നോക്കുക.

    If you're interested in watching a movie full of suspense and twists, here's one for you: "Les Traducters," also known as "The Translators." This edge-of-your-seat thriller follows 9 translators assigned to translate the third and final installment of the Dedalus Trilogy by a major publishing house. These professional translators come from different parts of the world and speak various languages.

    There are conditions for this job. The translators must live in a secret location during the translation process. They cannot communicate with anyone outside the building, have no access to the Internet or other forms of communication, and are given only a few pages of the highly anticipated book each day for translation, which they must complete on the same day.

    Despite the challenging conditions, most of them remain due to the allure of money and the opportunity to be the first to know the conclusion of the novel. However, conflicts arise among the translators and management. The situation takes a turn when someone publishes the first 10 pages of the book online. Later, the same person demands cash in exchange for not publishing more pages online, with the amount increasing for each subsequent release. This creates chaos within the building, leading to a series of events. But who is behind this act?I it someone among the translators or???

The whodunit scenario in the movie leads to twists, turns, and surprises, culminating in an even bigger revelation at the climax. As a fan of mystery flicks with plenty of twists, I thoroughly enjoyed watching this movie and would highly recommend it to those with a taste for mystery and suspense thrillers.

A few days after all that happened with Robert Thorn and those who knew the mystery behind Damien, Carl Bugenhagen tried to convey a message to Robert Thorn’s brother, Richard Thorn. But after watching the first instalment of The Omen, one could predict what would have happened to him. The movie then jumps to a timeline seven years later, where Damien is enjoying the privilege of being a part of the influential and wealthy Thorn family. This episode features how Damien will respond to the mystery behind his birth.

The sequel clearly depicts the Antichrist and how the Desolate wants to rise with the help of supporters. Damien, being a brilliant student at the Academy, continues to do what he did in the first part: murdering people by 'natural/accidental' causes. The story might be predictable in this part, but its main intention is to explore how Damien welcomes the truth about himself and how he uses the influential family name to achieve his goals.

"The Omen 2" follows the path of the first part with murders, monstrous animals/birds, and the angels of the Antichrist. This movie sets the tone with curiosity among viewers about what would happen to Damien and whether he could fulfill his life’s aim. For me, the first part was a re-watch, but from this part onwards, I am also interested in knowing what happened to Damien. And hey, there are two more parts to complete the saga of the coming-of-age life of the son of the Antichrist!

"Laapataa Ladies" begins with two brides losing their way to the bridegrooms' houses after a train journey. One may wonder how they lost their way, but the logic behind their predicament is shown in an interesting way. The movie is set in rural India of 2001. The initial flow of the movie depicts the challenging lives of women in rural India, where they have limitations on their freedom to act. Quite obviously, one might have a gut feeling that "Laapataa Ladies" would be another clichéd movie catering to feminist ideologies.

Yes, the movie has shades of those ideologies, but it is presented in a way that sets the tone for a nice movie with comedy, a bit of twist here and there, and, most importantly, likable characters. Though the villagers shown in the movie are traditional in following their customs, most of them are harmless. So the conflicts in the movie create laughs here and there, even though there are chances for them to be serious in real life.

"Laapataa Ladies" shows the life and attitudes of two different ladies and how they view their lives in an orthodox setup. The characters have contrasting behaviors, which makes the movie more interesting. For me, the character of Pushpa Kumari is the one that is developed a lot. From the beginning, there were some mysterious elements in the character. But as the movie progresses, the character gains strength and shines brightly throughout the whole movie.

Being a movie that showcases the empowerment of women, the film never tries to portray all the men out there as bad characters. The innocence of the character Deepak Kumar, his emotions, and his friends are all depicted in a soothing way. Yes, there are bad male characters too in the movie, but they are not forced to be the bad ones. Instead, it aligns with the culture and the community. "Laapataa Ladies" represents the lives of women in many parts of India who are tied down due to society, culture, religion, and many other factors that could be found on the pages of a book on gender studies. That is a harsh reality too.

"Laapataa Ladies" tries to discuss core issues in a simple way that will help viewers watch the movie without a prejudiced mind. That makes "Laapataa Ladies" a film that stays with you long after the credits roll.

The birth of a boy changed everything for the Ambassador to Britain and an expected US Presidential candidate, Robert Thorn. The sequence of events in his life made him understand a secret that he never imagined believing. But was he right, or was it just an imagination that arose from his distress due to the unfortunate events in his life? Well, for Robert Thorn and his family, everything needed to be scrutinized and conclusions reached. In his journey to find the truth, will the evil forces gain an upper hand on what he believed in his whole life? He might have thought that he should have believed the first person who revealed the secret to him, or at least the signs that came in front of him before everything started to flip the other way around.

"The Omen" showcases Thorn's secret and others around him. God and Satan are always the main characters in the holy books around the world. In real life, we can differentiate between the terms good and bad. But do you think that God and Satan are real? Even though they seem to be invisible, we might sense them in many places, even in our daily lives, arts, work, and any place you can imagine. Hypothetically, our life is surrounded by good and bad everywhere. "The Omen" is a movie that discusses the evilness of Satan more than anything. I felt that the movie gave Satan a larger-than-life image.

Damien, the young boy, is not depicted performing any works of evil on the screen. But various incidents in the movie lead to the idea that Damien is the alleged son of Satan. But is it really true? "The Omen" is filled with atmospheric horror throughout the movie. There are some scenes that make the viewer feel the "horror" of the movie. The scene in which the lady dies by hanging herself is one to point out. There are other deaths that also align with this particular scene.
"The Omen" was the start of a franchise that delved back into old scripts in the religious arena. "The Omen" has garnered a cult following after other parts were released. Some of them were good, while some others weren’t. The first "Omen" released in 2024 is the prequel to this episode of the "Omen" series.

For me, "The Omen" is a classic in the horror genre.
